PSY/OPS accepts new typographic work on a selective basis. If you think you have a design that would be at home in the PSY/OPS Library we encourage you to send it in.

Unlike many other distributors who only accept finished work, PSY/OPS seeks out strong, inspired concepts which may still be in progress. In fact, PSY/OPS functions as much as an editor as a publisher. We have edited for and co-designed with more than a dozen designers in this manner with excellent results.

There are many reasons for choosing to distribute through PSY/OPS:

  • A 50% royalty for exclusive representation

  • A guaranteed base royalty per sale

  • Technical & design assistance

  • Designer control over sublicensing / OEM decisions

  • The benefit of having your work belong to a selective, reputable, and visible collection

  • A personal, constructive approach to collaboration

We prefer to receive your submissions as PDFs; however we can also accept Macintosh or PC fonts, or paper prints at 600dpi or higher. To submit: 1) Include as much of the character set as is available in black on a white field at no smaller than 60 point (approximately 3/4" height). You can include other visuals, but be sure to include the character set as requested. 2) Provide background information, particularly the inspiration, sources, and influences behind the design. 3) Send your designs to us by email or post. Make sure to include your contact info.

PSY/OPS is primarily — but not exclusively — interested in alternative, non-derivative text designs, as well as idiosyncratic but well conceived display designs. We are not interested in deconstructed / unstructured / haphazard designs.

Due to current time constraints, we are only able to respond to, and provide critiques for, contributions which we believe we can license.

Thank you for considering PSY/OPS!
