Paul Veres grew up in New York, attended Pratt and City College, and received his masters at CUNY. Since transplanting to California, he's designed & illustrated for several non-profit organizations, and has painted the signage for the Berkeley Repertory Theatre for over 20 years. A teacher by day and artist by night, his typeface designs grew directly out of his training in, and teaching of calligraphy: "Eventually, working with letterforms developed into the crazy idea that I could create fonts..." He's gone on to publish his graceful pen-based typefaces with AGFA-Monotype, Linotype, and PSY/OPS. Paul resides in a bright, art-filled house in the heart of Berkeley. |
