We apply time-tested spacing techniques; and a proprietary kerning process which allows for reliable testing in a fraction of the time it would otherwise take. • Vector Checking If you have a font which is rendering improperly; or worse, one which is crashing your system, it may be due to problems with its construction. We can test for and eliminate these problems. We can also optimize the overall construction to yield a font file that looks better on screen & paper, and which downloads faster.


• Weight Variants The art of creating new weights for a typeface transcends simply clicking a few buttons (despite what software makers would like you to believe). Though we use the best digital tools available, we approach the creation of new weights from a traditional point of view: with the knowledge of the optical adjustments that are necessary when expanding a typefamily.


• Style Variants We can create the true-drawn italics, condensed or extended fonts, smallcaps you need for your visual communication projects.


• Expanded Character Sets We can add those essential characters that are missing from your font file. From European diacritics, to true fractions, to the inline icons you've created for your book layout.


• Bitmap Building The art of the bitmap has re-emerged thanks to new web & WAP applications. We can create and integrate hand-tuned bitmaps for clear viewing on various systems (including Flash movies). We've done it for some of the most notable corporations on earth and we can do it for you.


• Platform & Format Conversion Until OpenType really kicks in, the formidable differences between Mac & PC, and PostScript & TrueType can make conversion less-than automatic. We maintain the equipment needed to reliably generate and test cross-platform fonts in-house.


• Hinting is the most nuanced and esoteric level of font creation. A must for any text or standardized font that is intended for serious, commercial usage.
