This paragon of fixed-width utility began as a commission for a well known IT company (though it was never deployed, and reverted to non-proprietary status). The typeface has since been expanded by PSY/OPS Type Foundry, and used as a core font in well known web gadgets, but it remains available for general licensing. It comes in coordinated Serif and Sanserif styles. Blackbox is a monospace style typeface and has been designed specifically for screen use. It offers a tall x-height for increased legibility and is favored as a coding font.
Blackbox is available in a Superset, with all 10 fonts. In addition, Blackbox offers a couple of subsets. Blackbox Serif contains all 5 serif style fonts, including the smallcaps. While Blackbox Sans contains all 5 sans style fonts, including the smallcaps. Individual fonts are also available.
Each Blackbox Mono font include: Western and Eastern European characters, Stylistic Alternates, Ligatures, and more.
