TAROCCO BY STEFAN HATTENBACH
The Tarocco typeface is a collection of sophisticated and very readable fonts by Stefan Hattenbach. Tarocco includes a complete set of Regular, Italic, Medium, Medium Italic, Bold and Bold Italic fonts, as well as Smallcaps with both Lining and Old Style Figures (numerals).
Tarroco also comes with a beautiful set of classical ornaments featuring calligraphic swashes and ornate text embellishments. Each text font comes packaged with an Extras font; containing additional ligatures, alternate numerals, and a few alternate characters.
The origin for the Tarocco typeface is found in Nordisk Antikva, a typeface constructed for the Swedish language in 1910. Waldemar Zachrisson, a master printer, was determined to realize his ideas and in 1906 he began to cooperate with a foundry based in Hamburg called Genzsch & Heyse. Some influences from Jugendt (an artistic movement) can be found here.
